Numerous homeowners often feel uncertain about hanging a shower curtain, primarily because they consider DIY activities to be out of their skill set. Luckily, there are simple techniques for putting up a shower curtain that are not only easy to understand but can also assist in saving money.
First you will need to decide what type of shower curtain you want to hang. There are two basic types of shower curtains; cloth or fabric. If you decide that you want to hang a curtain that is fabric, you can use a curtain rod for the curtain rod system.
This is a fairly inexpensive system of attaching a curtain rod to the bottom of the shower curtain rod. You can find curtain rods that cost between fifty and seventy dollars. Using this system, you attach the curtain rod to the bottom and then you zip it down using a small zipper.
This method works very well, but you will have to sew the curtain rod to the curtain rod. If you are handy with sewing and not afraid to take on some time to make this project yourself, you may want to choose this system.
When you are not using the curtain rod, you can still put the curtain rod in the shower rod. However, you have to be careful to secure the curtain rod to the rod before you zip it down.
Instead of a curtain rod, you can use a sheer curtain rod. This is the type of curtain rod that hangs straight up. It is quite difficult to install, but it works very well.
The rod is also very easily found at home improvement stores. Some brands include: Scott, and a lot of others. You can find curtain rods for less than thirty dollars.
If you do not have a curtain rod, you can also use curtain clasps to hang a curtain. You simply attach the curtain piece to the curtain rod to the bottom of the curtain rod.
The curtain clasps are easy to use and work well. You just need to have one that is sturdy enough to hold up to your curtain and the water in the shower.
Once you have installed your curtain and there is no longer any moisture or water in the room, you can simply remove the curtain and throw it away. It will not fray or tear and you will have a beautiful new curtain to hang.
You can also remove the curtain at any time to use the shower drain. When you remove the curtain, you should leave enough space around the rod to allow the drain to slide through. If you close the drain, you will not be able to get the rod out of the way for cleaning it out.
There are a lot of different ways to learn how to hang a shower curtain. Keep in mind that there are several different types of curtain rods and you will need to be creative to install the curtain rod without causing damage to the rod.
